SplitNota Privacy Policy

Data We Process

The app may process receipt photos, OCR text, bill items, totals, tax/service/discount information, participant names, selected contact names and phone numbers, payer payment notes, IBAN, bank name, Revolut link, shared bill links, and manual payment status.

SplitNota processes this information only to provide bill scanning, bill splitting, sharing, and manual reimbursement features. SplitNota does not sell contact data.

Camera, Photos, and Contacts

Camera and photo access are used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Contacts access is used only when you choose to add participants from your device contacts.

If you choose a person from your contacts, SplitNota may use the selected contact name and phone number to help identify the participant in the bill flow. We do not upload your full address book and we do not sell contact information.

AI Receipt Parsing

When receipt scanning is used, receipt images and extracted OCR text may be sent to an AI service to detect bill items, totals, taxes, tips, discounts, and related receipt details.

AI parsing can be inaccurate. You should review and correct the extracted receipt before using it or sharing it with other participants.

Do not scan receipts that contain sensitive or confidential information you do not want processed by the receipt parsing service. If a receipt includes sensitive details, cover them before scanning or enter the bill manually.

Firebase Sharing

When you share a bill link, bill data needed for participants to tick consumed items and mark manual payment status is stored in Firebase/Firestore. This may include receipt items, totals, participant display names, payment notes, reimbursement details entered by the payer, and payment status.

Shared bill links can be opened by people who receive the link. Before sharing a link, make sure you are sending it to the correct people and that the bill does not contain information you do not want those people to see.

Contact IDs and participant phone numbers are not published in shared bill documents. However, participant names and bill/payment details needed for the shared bill experience may be visible to people who can open the shared link.

Payments

SplitNota does not send, receive, verify, hold, or process real payments. Revolut links, IBANs, bank names, payment notes, and cash/paid statuses are shown only to help participants manually reimburse the person who paid the bill.

If you add an IBAN, Revolut link, bank name, or payment note, it may be visible to people who receive or open the shared bill link. Only add payment details that you are comfortable sharing with the participants.

Purchases

Digital purchases such as SplitNota Pro and 10-scan packs are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play billing. SplitNota does not receive full card details.

Your Choices

You can avoid scanning a receipt and enter bill items manually. You can avoid adding contacts and type participant names manually. You can choose not to add IBAN or Revolut details. You can also choose not to share a bill link.
